Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has revealed that the developer is working “very closely” with Microsoft and Sony’s new motion controls. While he admitted that the firm was working with Move and Natal, an NDA forbade him from speaking further on the matter. He revealed as well that the CryEngine platform supports the technology.
“[We're] working very closely with Sony and Microsoft in regards to motion control on both the PS3 and Xbox 360”, Yerli told Develop. “That’s as much as NDA allows us to say right now. ”Last month, a trademark filing from Crytek UK (FreeRadical) revealed a logo and title of an unannounced project called Self Defense, which many speculate to be a motion control project. The firm is also very interested in 3D, according to the firm’s business development boss Carl Jones. “It certainly adds a lot to a number of games. Depth perception in an FPS really changes the game and makes it a lot more enjoyable,” he offered. “I think people are starting to wake up and take notice that 3D is on its way, it’s not long before developers are taking advantage of it. ”Crysis 2 is slated for the end of the year for PC as well as Xbox 360 and PS3.
