Brink To Take Customization, Features 'To Next Level'

Splash Damage's creative director, Richard Ham says that the developers up-and-coming first-person shooter Brink will take customization and in-game features "to the next level"

Ham was asked whether the game would include features such as air strikes in our most anticipated title of the year in an interview with NowGamer.

"Definitely!" he said. "In fact, back in 2003, our title Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory introduced earning XP (experience points) to level up and earn new combat abilities. So we’ve been doing this kid of gameplay for a long time, and Brink definitely takes it to the next level."

"I think players are going to be really surprised by the sheer number of new items, abilities, weapons, weapon add-ons, and outfits they can earn as they play." he added.

We were some of the first people to see Brink - back in October last year - where Splash Damage founder Paul Wedgwood showed some off of the character customization. At that point, the game was in its pre-alpha stage and was looking excellent, so we can't imagine what it'll be like when released.

The game is to be published by Bethesda Software, and will release for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC later on this year. Keep your eyes peeled, it's one to watch.
